Everglades College to Offer Alternative Medicine Bachelor’s Degree Herbology, Feng Shui, Naturopathy, and Antioxidants are Among Courses Offered
Oct. 14, 2002 - Fort Lauderdale, Florida - As healthcare costs continue to rise, Fort Lauderdale’s Everglades College has received approval from the Florida Commission for Independent Education to offer a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Alternative Medicine.
This program, the only of its kind in Florida and unique in the United States, will enable current practitioners with Associate Degrees in nursing, physical therapy, medical assisting, and related fields to continue their education and bring alternative medicine concepts and theories to the attention of their patients. For those who do not have Associate Degrees, the entire Bachelor’s Degree can be completed at Everglades College. With courses such as Body Awareness and Physical Movement, Detoxification and Healing, Dietary Influences on Disease, Stress Reduction and Relaxation, and Iridology, practitioners will be prepared to apply a more holistic approach to their careers and be successful in a variety of industries such as healthcare, sports, rehabilitation, spas, leisure, and beauty.
Everglades College is four-year institution which offers its classes both on campus and online. The college offers the Bachelor of Science Degree with majors in Business Administration, Information Technology, Applied Management, Aviation Management, Professional Aviation, and Alternative Medicine. With small class sizes and unique scheduling, Everglades accommodates the working student.
