University Celebrates Current and Future Grand Opening -
Main Campus Moves to Boca Raton; University Approved for Third Campus
in Orlando
September 20, 2004 - Boca Raton, Florida - Providing high school graduates, college
transfers, and working adults increased access to education,
Everglades University, previously located in Fort Lauderdale, held its
grand opening celebration on Wednesday, September 22nd at
6:00pm at the new main campus located at 5002 T-Rex Avenue, Suite 100,
Boca Raton, Florida. Boca Raton Mayor Steven Abrams and other
dignitaries were in attendance. With a branch campus established in
Sarasota, Everglades University was recently approved to open a third
campus in Orlando—anticipated to happen by year’s end. Expansion
through additional campuses is based on demand generated by the local
community for both educational institutions and future employment
demands in specific career fields.
Over the past year Everglades University
has experienced both institutional and programmatic advancements: the
State of Florida, Department of Education, and Commission for
Independent Education granted approval to open the Sarasota Branch
Campus in January 2003; approval to offer the Master’s Degrees in
Business Administration, Information Technology, and Aviation Science
was given in May 2003; and Everglades College officially changed its
name to Everglades University and also received approval to offer a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Science in December 2003.
Everglades University is a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s
Degree-granting institution which offers classes both on campus and
online. Offering programs in business, computer technology, aviation,
and alternative medicine disciplines, Everglades utilizes small class
size and unique scheduling to accommodate working students.
Everglades University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of
Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.
