Crisis and Disaster Management Degree in Florida and Online

In our increasingly volatile world, the demand for crisis disaster management professionals is greater than ever before. Individuals with a Crisis and Disaster Management degree are the very men and women who design and carry out plans to reduce the loss of life and property when disaster inevitably strikes. The major in Crisis and Disaster Management from Everglades University will prepare students for careers in public and private industries including local and state government, health care, and community services among others. Students may complete all program requirements online and at the Sarasota, Boca Raton, or Orlando campus.

 

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Crisis and Disaster Management provides students with a broad based knowledge of crisis and disaster management combined with a general education foundation and business and management applications. Courses include, but are not limited to Emergency Preparedness and Response; Disaster and Society; Relationship Management; Emergency Management and Public Policy; Human Resource Management; Basic Emergency Planning; and Disaster Health Management. Emphasis is placed on communication skills, global awareness, management skills, critical thinking, theory, planning, management, response, relief, recovery and specific cases associated with public emergencies, disasters, and catastrophes. Included in the curriculum are natural, technical, and human-induced crises. Graduates of this program will be prepared for productive management careers in the crisis and disaster management environment.
